Miloby brownguyComment by TomMMD: I hope the little bit of red doesn't DQ this. I like the monochrmatic execpt for just that tiny spot of color |

Miloby brownguyComment by glad2badad: Ok, technically this is soft and overexposed in the highlights...but I really like it. :-) It's natural, like how you'd see it in person. Not sure how it would print, but in this format it presents well IMO.
Good luck in the challenge. |

Miloby brownguyComment by Dave Gordon: My cat spends half the day looking out the window or our glass door. Very cute shot. |

Rubik's Cube Unicycleby brownguyComment by MelonMusketeer: The cube looks good for a pan shot in close quarters with so much going on. A crop to vertical, by removing most of the wall on the left of the door would have helped with the score. I expect that you left the wall in so that the rider would be on the "thirds" line, and to show that he was in fact riding the unicycle. The people voting on DPC seem to want an unmistakable subject to pop right out of the image when they open it. Sharpness is a major plus with voting too. I thought you pulled this off pretty well for an indoor shot.
The easiest pan shots are done with a medium tele lens, or zoom at max range. That way the speed of your rotation to capture the moving subject is much lower than when the subject is passing very close to the camera. Just track with the subject, and remember to keep the camera motion going and follow thru after the shot a little to keep the the motion uniform while the shutter is open.
Thank you for the thoughtful comment on one of my images. |
