I gave this a 5. My wife had a good comment. The eyes were supposed to be the focus, but in this shot, the eyes point you away from them - they "give up" the focus rather than grabbing it.

Welcome to dpchallenge. There is lots of opportunity to learn here. Your shots so far show great creativity, and as you hone your technique, your scores will go up. (I'm still waiting for that to happen...but it will, I know it will... ;-p)

Very nice effect here. What is the black border at top and bottom? Is it a photo of a painting? If yes, then it can get disqualify for literal presentation of art. I am scoring assuming it's going to be qualify as valid image.

Seems that the front ear is what is in focus but doesn't have enough contrast to be a focal point for the shot.

Nice idea, the DOF is working very well for this shot, but the focus is too soft. There needs to be more detail showing in the fur.
