A different composition might make this more interesting - instead of centering the subject, I would suggest shooting it from an angle and maybe even playing around with shallow depth of field.

Just a bit too much shoulder for my tastes. It might have looked better had this been cropped closer to the tie and had a bit more of the tie and shirt and collar as opposed to the amount of jacket shoulder
