rice3bwdp.jpgby IraklisComment by Haneck: I love this one so much... All the chaotic swirling motion of the rice, the joyous expressions, the rich contrast and the black and white - this is so beautiful! :) |

escalsill.jpgby IraklisComment by Haneck: The composition is the work of a master. Absolutely jaw-dropingly good. And I agree with nixter; the complete darkness the man is stepping into gives this photo an incredible, powerful impact. |

manwallhole.jpgby IraklisComment by Haneck: This is completely ...
never-mind, I've run out of adjectives. :) All the different intermingled perspectives you've captured here are fascinating. The perspective of the woman - only aware of the photographer and seeming to be sharing a private joke with the viewer of the photograph. Then the man in the hole, apparently oblivious to the photographer, but studying the woman with a delightfully ironic, amused expression. And then there's the perspective of the viewer, observing first the woman, then the whole scene, in a way that somehow brings the viewer into the photograph, as thought they were experiencing it for real. I completely love that. I think it's part of what makes this shot such a classic.
Then the viewer has to wonder about what story is being played out here. Where are we? What is the woman saying? Why the slight smile? What is the man doing? Passing by in a flicker of a second, or pausing to look at the woman? And what on earth is he thinking?! (I think that question bothers me most of all!) Is he trying to figure out what happened to her hair? Is she an old friend? Is he waiting to see how she'll react to a practical joke he just played on her? :D Overall this is a delightful, expert image. Amazing, amazing work. Message edited by author 2008-12-12 14:51:15. |

armdance.jpgby IraklisComment by Haneck: A very unique and creative photo, but not obnoxiously so, imo. The composition you've created is astounding and works perfectly. I also love the girl's expression. Terrific capture |

Invisibleby IraklisComment by Haneck: The way you made the subject slightly out of focus is completely perfect. I love how plain it is that she she is still the subject here, thanks to the fact that the composition leads the eyes right to her. It enhances the "invisible" concept so strongly that the viewer could probably get that impression even without the title. Bravo. |
