Young Buckby BastaComment by HarveyG: This UWA shot of the deer does make for an unusual and not oft seen perspective, when traditionally a prime 3/4/5/600mm or high quality zoom is used to shoot animals. It shows the animal clearly, in soft light and the smallish aperture big DOF allows the viewer to see more of the animals environment. I'm not sure it is engaging enough for publication, and this decision rests on the publishers brief to the tog and the relevance to the text. 50/50? |

Young Buckby BastaComment by MaryO: Fun angle :-) Plenty of detail and context; I can see this accompanying a magazine article. |

Young Buckby BastaComment by adigitalromance: This is a great picture with a very distracting border. Because I appreciate this truly awesome picture, I want you to know I'm not letting the very bright border take any points away from my vote. |

Lakesideby BastaComment by giantmike: I feel like there could somehow be more to this image. It's a nice visual, but I cannot figure out what it's trying to say to me. Maybe a tighter crop on the building to have less empty sky/water would be helpful.
Obvious tripod use: High. I was thinking of medium/high, but with the very low noise you likely had to use a low ISO. |

Lakesideby BastaComment by ti_evom: Obvious use of a tripod, or any other long-term stabilization tool (1-10 *is not the score of the shot though*): 8
Large aperture, high ISO, and lens or body stabilization *could* have pulled this off handheld. |
