MixiComment by ursula: FROM THE CRITIQUE CLUB
Hi, Little Bunny,
Guess who got your picture to critique for the Critique Club? ME!!!
OK. I think this was a good entry, especially for your first time entering a picture to a challenge. I thought it was really nice how you came up with the idea all by yourself, and set it up and took it all by yourself. I think you're going to be a good photographer when you grow up.
Like a couple persons said below, it would have been nice that the top candle were a different colour or colours (it DOES look a little bit like "you know what"). Also, it might have been better if you would have used some other form of light rather than the flash (that would have helped a lot with both reflections on the metal and shadows). I think that you could also have turned the candleholder so that the label doesn't show.
Things that I like are the black background, the way you got in quite close to the candles to take the picture, and that it is nicely in focus.
I think, little bunny, that one of the problems with taking pictures is that what looks interesting to me (or you) may not look all that interesting to other people. So, your problem as a photographer is not only to take a good picture, but one that will get people to stop and take another look, and wonder about it, and come back, both for the beauty of it and the story behind it.
Keep going, sweetie, but remember, the Fuji is still mine for a little while longer :) I love you,
Mami (uabresch)
