Interesting, this seems opposite of the challenge description. Instead of having your subject stand out due to color, it stands out due to the black and white.

Beautiful photo, but I don't consider it meeting the challenge.

Juliet, I love the photo...but I think the cup's shadow is hiding your BURST of color too much.

You commented about the "big color" but to me the yellow (which is what I'm guessing you're referencing) is a background element to me. Used to highlight the vines and texture of the wall. It's the tie that BURSTS more. Even though it doesn't really BURST to me either. Sorry babes. I do love the shot though.

I really like this photo but don't really see a "burst of color" just a little bit of a red tie. The offset in this photo is more the monochrome suit and shirt against the gold background not the red tie. That is just a small addition to the photo...not the color offset which was the challenge.
