Love this photo. It's definitely effective as a study in foreground interest, and the level of detail and color balance is incredible. My one reservation has to do with the way the bird registers in "uncanny valley" territory--as if it had been dropped in from another place where the lighting is different from the rest of this composition. I'm assuming that was an artistic choice. Still weighing its effectiveness for me. Will return to vote later. :-)

What I love most about this is how the bird and the shadow together have somehow morphed into another being. Colors are magnificent, Bear-style. Sunsets prevail for this challenge! Overall I think this went a little heavy on the sharpening though.

Lovely image, full of great colors and shadows. The clouds are very dramatic. The bird looks somewhat odd as the sun is behind him yet he is lit much more than the silhouetted trees.

What a wonderful sunset and capture of the rower. I wish it was level and the rest of the tree in the reflection but the image is so impactful regardless.
