Silentby TiberiusComment by DrAchoo: An interesting subject. I go back and forth as to whether the grain is adding something or not. I think so, but just barely. It isn't too noticeable as there is a lot of texture in the water already. |

Silentby TiberiusComment by Jutilda: This made me smile. I don't know why. Maybe reminds me of my Dad.
thanks.... Nice placement of the figure. Maybe more grain would suit me. |

Decayby TiberiusComment by Leighroy: The left half seems a little washed out to me - the right half looks really nice, great contrast and tones. |

Dreamingby TiberiusComment by tsheets: You mentioned in the forum post "it's nothing spectacular". The question is "what would make it spectacular?" (not that I actually know what I'm talking about). I think Shadow has a good point...nothing to settle on...it's a very busy photo. I think the lighting is one thing that could make a dramatic change in this shot. It looks like a very bright day, and the tree trunk that is "washed out" kind of draws your attention to it at the egde rather than in for a deeper look at things. I Can't tell if this is a flash going off or direct sunlight near the bottom, and shade as you go up. If it's sunlight, maybe a reflector to shine up the trunk and onto the leaves would help. |
