I want to thank DianaB for this beautiful words. They do belong here.
Thank you Diana.

Half (grief for my father)

by Diana B

Deep in the recess of my mind,
there, images of you unwind
releasing strands of memory,
of spoken words, and times when we
experienced, as one, that bond
of love transfixing the fondness
between us. A father and son,
now divided – eclipsed upon -
you’re hid, yet still seen in the light
radiating from me despite
the shadow which speaks of my loss
and marks a space we cannot cross.

Sometimes I feel like half of me
is torn away, but then I see
some part of ‘you’ which makes me whole.
One man, complete within my soul.
You will remain with me and, though
no longer may we touch, you know
my prayer will cut the veils which keep
apart our world and we will meet
unseen within a special place
(where dark nor light exists), by grace
of god, touching hand to hand
across the void – embraced we’ll stand.

A good action shot, like the silhouette approach.

Comment by CNovack:
I love the B&W of this shot for it calls attention to the subjects in this composition. The sky is simple and flat which is very good because it does not add any texture that would distract from the main focus. Love how you have captured the men working on this crane. The B&W gives the photo a feeling of nostaliga - like of days gone by. Surprised that you did not have a title for this one. I have looked at this twice and it really captures the spirit of early industry. BTW, the second time I gazed upon this image I got a flash of imagery of this image being akin to that famous photo of the Flag Raising At Iwo Jima....only this men are raising the crane.

I like the silhouettes, a lot of empty space at top though.

7 - Good shot, good almost silhouette effect. Criticism; difficult to tell, but seems it needs a slight nudge rotation up on the left, but the horizon in the distance seems level from what I can discern so not sure. This definitely needs 640 height to help it. The b/w(?) toning works well here, nice overall 'feel'.

Comment by Kavey:
Nice silhouette, I really like the composition and use of negative space. Unusually, the completely white sky really adds to this image; normally it's a turn off.
