I like it... fun photo. I've got a few issues (keep in mind I didn't vote):

1) the branch from the tree, looks like it's trying to pet his head or something.
2) DoF is a bit too deep, adding distractions in the background and a shallower DoF could have fixed the tree issue.
3) I'm sure the blown sky hurt you a bit. DPC loves either blue skies or skies with a lot of features. A relector or flash on the subject could have kept exposure correct on the subject while giving you a darker sky and darker background, making the subject more prominent.
4) I like the motion in the hand, but shutter spped increase could have made focus on the subject a tad sharper.

Anyway, I hope I haven't been overly critical, but DPC, as you know, is a picky crowd. If you want high scores, you have to cater to that finickiness. If you want to have fun, well, you kinda have to not worry about scores.

I have never seen a gypsy look like this before. The colours are warm adn details in teh background are clear. I think that the look may hinder you as most people have a different image of a gypsy than you are depicting.
