The Old and the Newby JimiRoseComment by SandyP: Jimi! I am loving your style and the story you are telling about where you live with your photography. I've never been to Italy, but have been so drawn to it and inspired by photos I've seen and television documentaries. Thank you for sharing. Each day is a cool new treat. I'm so glad you picked the subject you did for this challenge!
Oh, and I have to disagree with Socal about the McDonalds arch being a distraction. I don't think it looks like its coming out of his head. I think it looks like it is nicely framing him to add interest and composition. Art and photography is so subjective, isn't it? My vote: This has personality and character totally as is!

The Old and the Newby JimiRoseComment by socalsteve: Interesting pic given the write-up. The McDonalds arch is great symbolically but detracts from the shot as it looks like it is coming out of his head. Maybe moving more to the left would let it stand on its own? I like the B&W conversion. What's your theme this month? |

Calm Before The Stormby JimiRoseComment by hotpasta: been there, done that! a great vantage point from the hundreds of steps to the top of the tower...hope you are fit! I bumped my lenshood of me 18-200VR near the top squeezing through the tight passages and I broke it...it still works OK...did you see the mark I left behind on the wall though? :)
OK, the image now, just think the dodge and burn lets this down, other than that, nice |

Via Mazziniby JimiRoseComment by Melethia: Normally I'm a B&W girl (and I do like the B&W version) but I have to admit the color works very well for this, too. |
