Beauty in Deathby whttiger25Comment by UrfaK: The composition is nice but the light is slightly harsh and makes the upper half overexposed.. while commenting I'm staring at just the lower half and the tones on the grass look amazing.. perhaps that would have made a better subject.. |

Waveby whttiger25Comment by wingyisleeds: Nice shot. I think there is probably a bit too much sky and the beach foreground could be a bit lighter. look forward to seeing more of your shots ;-) |

Waveby whttiger25Comment by HeiSch: I aplologize if I'm too direct. There is nothginwrong with showing a wave. It's only the way you chose to do that. You cut the picture in half with the upper half beeing completely empty. THere is no use of negative space, the sky is plain empty. The lower part of your picture is split into thirds. a real dark featureless beach, a third that could be intersting with all the dynamics of retrieving and coming out waves and an other boring third of empty sea.
If you now look at your picture is a real small portion of your pic that's intersting. You took a picture of it too far away (no details) and placed it into a spot surrounded by featureless areas.
I know it sounds hard, but if you want to show off the wave, you got to get up close. Looks like you had a nice low sun. Get your feet wet and take a pic against the sun, right when the wave is breaking (well a long tele does the same thing), or turn around an shoot with the light, or get down to the almost the level of the water and show us the fight of the water coming in with the one pulled out. |
