Not a huge duck fan but I do enjoy the drama and motion within this image. I hoped for a bit more balance between the ducks and background or I should say less balance, more contrast to separate them more.

Pictures of ducks are frequently boring. This one has action and color. I like it! I think the frame detracts a lot from the picture. It's too wide and the white inner frame keeps pulling my eye out of the picture to the frame. I think a narrower, simpler border would have been more effective.

I think this works well as a "hidden challenge" (unlike most of the shots I've looked through). It seems that the focus might be on the front of the shell rather than the pearl, though. I think if you had nailed the focus a bit better, this could have been good. As a side note, I might have experimented with different crops to see if a more horizontal version of this might have worked better. Having said that, you may have already done this and decided on this one. I know that I get comments about cropping, and I've already tried many different crops and they didn't work for one reason or another. :-)

It looks like you ended up with a focus point on the lower front edge of the clam instead of the pearl.
