Sorry but this is not Mayan... this is Huichol art work from Mexico and yes, for them flowers are the passageway of the heart and mirrors the Spirits into the world. Each color has a special meaning too, and yes, it is the Matrix for Huichol tribes! would be interesting to see the complete art work item...
Beautiful colors. I don't like the blur flower effect at the right... it is out of focus
