Personally, this does not display desolation for me. What I do see is a wonky horizon and some dark silhoettes of trees that are too close. Also, the main subject of this pic is the branch, you have to admit it isnt very interesting... This would have been a better pic in general if you took it during sunset or rise? However, well done. Good try =)
