Backwaterby wetlandComment by Jutilda: This almost has a 3-d effect. I like how everything is yellow toned except for the red and blue of the boats. |

Backwaterby wetlandComment by karmat: I like how the bright colors on the boats contrasts with the more muted shades of the sides and the building. Feels a bit tight/cramped on the right hand side, and it makes the overall composition feel a bit unbalanced, but otherwise an interesting shot. |

Backwaterby wetlandComment by Jammur: Not a big fan of HDR, but in this case your colors are compelling and i love the detail you capture beneath the water. |

Backwaterby wetlandComment by eschelar: Lots of interesting shapes there.
Give the pic a minute and there's tons to fill the eye. Thematic repetition in the triangles of the building/reflection, prow of the boat and lines of the ropes. Also on circles on the barrel and in the weeds (and in the prow of the boat on the right).
It is not a balanced composition and it suits the imbalance very well.
I'm going to punch this up a bit higher than my initial response because I chose to gave it a few extra moments and it was worth it. |

Daisy: Rescue dog, happier than she looks!by wetlandComment by aKiwi: On camera flash doesn't help this image.
Try to ues a more imaginitive lighting setup. Either try to get your flash off your camera, or use window lighting or a reflector to make things more interesting and softer.
I can see you have gone to some effort to create a nice photo here and respect your effort to setup a plain background. I think Black is not a good colour as it creates a vacume that draws attention more than it should. Better is a plain colour or grey.
Crop is good and I like that you have gotr down to eye level with your pet to take the photo. |
