hutch and vases in duotoneby wetlandComment by waterlilies: I adore the colors, the flowers, the composition, and that gorgeous piece of furniture. I don't like the stark shadows behind the objects, though -- I find them distracting. I imagine you loved those, so I'll chalk it up to personal taste. :) |

special trout holeby wetlandComment by joannadiva: this is a very pretty spot
However you might want to adjust your WB if you can. There's a slight blue cast here. Not enough to ruin the pic but I'm sure your getting that. Next time you try this bring a tripod. I know it's a hassle but in any low light situation I have found that I get cleaner, sharper pix if I use a tripod. I learned that when I was still shooting regularly with my old kodak. It's ecential now with my rebel. It also provides something stable to lean on when I'm trogging through the woods. I got mine at wallmart only $40 they have cheeper ones but when I went to price tripods realized this was a good deal.
Have you tried long sutter spped for a soft look?? You don't have to the pic is good as it stands It's only that I'm experementing with them and I've found it frustrating and ultimatly satifying when I get a good result.
good luck.
It's a beautifll stream

special trout holeby wetlandComment by adine: I like the flow of water thru the center of the shot. Wish there had been more light on the water, like on the bushes. Could be sharper. |

hutch and vases in duotoneby wetlandComment by dr rick: Seems like more than a duotone, but I like the items you chose and the way you arranged them. There is a great variety of textures from soft to smooth to rough in the items, the flower shadows, and the noisy hutch shadow, making it fun to "explore" the image. |

special trout holeby wetlandComment by kostia: can see some camera shake on the rocks and leaves. did you have a tripod? Nice composition, lighting, and color; just the technical aspects need a little work. |

special trout holeby wetlandComment by Ten13: Peaceful image, but the rocks and trees seem a bit unfocused, probably due to the length of the exposure. Now that I've said that, I really like the peacefulness of this image and this certainly looks like a 'sacred' place to you, so good job on interpreting the challenge. Good luck. |
