Color Splashby phloverComment by Paul: A perfectly contrived cliche. I mean that in a good way; we all become aware of what we need to do to meet the demands of a challenge, and our ability (and willingness) to respond to that challenge varies. Every shot we take is contrived, in the sense that we frame it, you have gone further and constructed and controlled every element. There is an artistic honesty in that - an acknowledgement that every image is constructed, framed, chosen.
Some people (including me), will see dpc cliche in this image - a water drop, super sharpness, circles of confusion; but they'll also be aware that (like me) that they wouldn't have the skills or patience to pull something like this off.
I don't particularly like the image - but I really admire it and the skill and commitment behind it.
A 9 from me. |
