Jiu Jitsuby MaggyeComment by MattO: This is a good example of getting low to get a unique perspective of the action. Most PWC(parents with camera) sit high in the stands or even stand next to the mat and shoot down(which can be good if you have a nasty background) But I like to get in tight and low and shoot the action. You would def. get more keepers to up the ISO and increase the shutter speed. My thoughts are simple, I would rather deal with a bit of noise that I can fix or reduce in post processing, then deal with motion blur that I have no hope at all of fixing later. |

Jiu Jitsuby MaggyeComment by hajeka: Nice sharp photo! I like the Dof (nice to see all those people in the background) and your position. Perhaps it could use a little white balance adjustment.
I would go to higher ISO (or a faster lens, if you've lots of money to spent :). |

Full speedby MaggyeComment by LadyK: wow, great capture! yeh, i agree with the previous commentors, get rid of the unpleasent distraction in the background, whether it be man or woman. |

Full speedby MaggyeComment by karmat: I thought it was a woman in the background -- haha. Anyway, aside from banning spectators from moving around the perimeter of the fields, about the only think we can do is be mindful of "If I shoot right here, what *else* is in the picture that I may not realize." |

Fragileby MaggyeComment by goinskiing: Excellent shot. Great clarity, framing, and composition. The DOF is perfect here and gives the shot great depth. I enjoy the lighting here as well. You should feel very proud of your work. |

Hanging outby MaggyeComment by goinskiing: I still like this one, though not as sharp as your other bee shot. If the focus could have been more on the bee it would have been right on par with the other. Nice capture though, the buggers can be tough. |

relaxingby MaggyeComment by goinskiing: Composition is spot on. I think what could have helped here would have been a little more light on the lizard as it seems a tad dark (maybe why it's not as sharp?), now I know animals shots are tough because you can't say "Hey, move into the light a little." So I'm just being nitpicky on your excellent work. |

Lunch Timeby MaggyeComment by goinskiing: Great detail and lighting. The framing and composition work well together here, very strong aesthetics and exposure. I like that you can see all the pollen fuzzies, nicely done. |

Lunch Timeby MaggyeComment by Mr_Pants: You did extremely well to catch one of these so well and get the focus so sharp. They never seem to pause for more than half a second. |
