I like the feeling of movement. Not quite sure about the colourisation - I think I'd maybe have gone a little lighter? Also, I'm not keen on the border. A simple single pixel of colour and then 10px of black would have worked better I think.

This is very beautiful photo. I love the feeling of movement in your shot. The warm golden colours add to the almost romantic feel of the whole image. Too bad you coudn't edit out the speck in the middle of blackness and the spot above her head (not your fault, I hate the rules too). I do not like the border as IMO it breaks the feeling of movement and makes it squared off. If you insist on border, maybe just a simple thin white one would have been better. Otherwise really nice image.

Hmmm, didn't think about that. I guess you could have 'fixed' it when taking the shot, but you may not have had quite the same composition. I have a software-controlled grid which I can overlay on the viewfinder when taking shots, and it helps in instances like this.

All in all it is a great shot though, and I do like the darker nearground (which could be added in PS but that would be cheating wouldn't it;)) These 'rules' are a bit too much sometimes, but that's another discussion...

I love it how you captured the emotion on the face in combination with the motion blur of the performance itself. I have my doubts about the color and the border, but the capture of this combination and the composition is good enough to grant it a 10. :)

Greetings from the Critique Club :)

Hi Bobster...

As I indicated in my original comment, this was one of my favorite photos in this challenge. I think, after I had the chance to view them all, this one still stood at the top of my list. I'm a big fan of well done black and white photos, and this one is no exception. The tonal ranges here are superb and the long, slow flowing curve of the walkway just leads me right into the scene. It makes me feel like I'm standing there with you smelling the salt air and hearing the seagulls in the breeze.

The only thing I see here that I would have maybe tried differently would have been to not let the horizon and the walkway converge. I think this could have been achieved by getting down on your knees to make this photo and bringing the camera closer to the walkway surface.

It takes a good eye to catch a scene like this... great work :)

I didn't add vignetting... it's probably the soft edges reported as a problem with my Optio S in wide angle. Luckily it doesn't spoil the shot too much! If I made the boards vertical... the horizon would slope... are you sure you would want that?! ;)

Very nice shot. Did you add the vignetting in the lower part of the shot? It works very well here. The only thing I'd be tempted to change would be to rotate slightly so that the strong lines in the center are vertical.
