Must be Prom Dayby gminkComment by EL-ROI: It may be true that you took this picture on the person's prom day, but there is nothing in the photo that gives a hint of this to the viewer. So here the title doesn't add anything to the picture. It's a good picture in that it has good color and saturation and it's in focus, but there is nothing interesting about the composition. There was no interesting point of view, no leading lines, no stop action of a water splash, no motion blur of people having a water fight. So I don't want to be harsh in my criticism, but here is an example of a good and average picture. |

Must be Prom Dayby gminkComment by enesoz: Nice photo but there are some technical errors in here
there is no rule of third, my eyes are confused to where to focus on the photo.
If I were the photographer I would position the washer guy, mıd left buttom of the photo. |

Intersecting parallel linesby gminkComment by Luci11e: just saw my comment....it was supposed to read
Great capture! (with an exclmation point, not a question mark)
I really liked this photo and gave it a 9. I think it is very striking. |

One hot dudeby gminkComment by bspurgeon: Hello from the Critique Club
First impression, I enjoy the various story lines in the image. Two conversations, the woman and the dog, and obviously the two men. What is the connection? Maybe the Hot Dud, won't let the man and woman on his fishing rig, and the dog is being let down easy. Digging the story line, even if I'm making it up! ;) As far as the challenge goes, it appears the voters did not find him appealing, but I think that may be due in part to the missed focus. The focal point is the woman's behind. The men are just out of, or just "leaving" the dof. Clearly this hurts the image based on your title. I agree with the comments regarding the need for a stronger crop or composition, but disagree with the too busy comment. I like the street feel to this scene.
Cheers,
Ben |
