skaterby tydComment by Ricky Cleave: One thing I do when photographing rookie skaters is I get down close to the ground to make it look like their trick is bigger than it actually is, getting down lower may have also help you with your background issue, I like how the shadow is in the shot, very nice. |

skaterby tydComment by shortredneck: You captured the skateboarder very well. I think that if you pulled in closer to the subject the background would not be as distracting. Overall, a very nice photo. |

skaterby tydComment by drewmedia: A lower angle might have made this shot more interesting -- and it would have made your friend look higher too :) PLEASE NOTE: Borders and blank space are not allowed to pad your image. Your photo will not be disqualified this challenge, but future entries that violate the rules will be. |

skaterby tydComment by hokie: Truly great photo. Normally you might think the background would distract but in this photo it is an integral part of the mood. The fence and the billboards and th buildings in the back give it the urban feel needed. Great shadow, great contrast and exposure. I love the way the skateboarders clothes came out all black to silouhette him against the background. Maybe a lower angle on the skateboarder to great contrast his body against the sky but thats nit picking and you might lose the shadow on the ground and the nice contrast of the concrete. One of my top 3 and a beautiful composition. |
