I almost think there are too many effects in this photo which detract a little from the basic image. I think I would have left the lights in the background and the sky a little more 'as is'. The drama and rhythm of the tail lights down the road is a little lost in all the 'noise' of the rest of the effects in the photo.

A few years ago about a dozen of us were trail riding on Mount Diablo and we staked our horses out in the shade and sat down on the ground to eat. A few moments later we discovered we were in a lady bug swarm, millions of these guys were inches thick in the shade, they were up the horses legs, into our food, under our shirts. Pretty creepy. It seems these guys migrate in big swarms through the year, winter in the valley, summer in the mountains

This is a fabulous capture. Growing up in Thousand Oaks, Ca. I would look forward to finding these ladybug colonies in the bushes and trees of our yard and surrounding hills each summer. I don't know if they still inhabit that area, but I'm thrilled to see they do indeed still gather for a summer party. oh, and a big congratulations on your 5th place finish!
