Great shallow depth of field and texture in his little paws! Just wish his eyes were a liitle more in focus though. Very nice over all though.

Wow, really!! That's kind of neat to know, but now I'm worried about my birds. :)

I've got about 2 dozen pics so far of this particular one. I'll have to post some more soon. They are pretty wicked looking.

Thanks for the awesome facts, BTW. If you'd asked me 10 years ago if I'd ever be interested in birds, I probably would bave laughed. They are rather cool was you get to know them...

I like the DOF and the colors in this picture very much.

This looks like a Brown Headed Cow Bird. Seriously!! haha They are pest birds that lay their egg (one at a time) in other birds nests. Often times these birds are smaller species like sparrows, finches and warblers. The host bird either doesn't seem to notice it or doesn't care because they don't take the new egg out. The Cow Bird egg develops rapidly and often hatches before the host eggs do. Then the new cowbird chick has the instinct to push anything that is in the nest with it OUT! The host parents again don't do anything to stop this activity and feed the cowbird chick as if it were their own. I've seen footage of a nearly fledged cow bird chick in the nest that was considerably larger than it's host parents! The Cow Birds are pretty smart since they let other birds raise their young for them. Not much effort required to continue their species.
