I have been saving this for the end. I really, really like the photo - and in a Free Study would probably have given it a vote of 7 or 8. There is a huge sense of narrative here, not just in the scene as presented, where, who, why, but also a narrative in the ambiguous intent of the photographer, almost as though the photographer is hinting at life's bigger picture. i am not being particular articulate here, but this photo leaves an undefinable, but strong impression on me.
However, and here is the thorn, the connection to the challenge is not readily apparant to me. Yes, there is some pattern in the scene - the paving, the parked cars, the balance of the couple under the umbrella with the pedestrians at the end of the view - but it just doesn't quite cut it for me (and I readily admit I may be missing your intent) in the challenge to which it has been entered.
