Sandhill Cranesby MarjoComment by e301: A nice study, particularly on the ends of the wings, where the feathers give you more contrast to work with. Not completely sure that your focus is spot-on (close though), and I wonder if the image couldn't just use more contrast overall, more punch. Perhaps there are too many angles nad crossings of the birds to make for a very easy look - they eye is constantly forced to move around, never to rest. |

Sandhill Cranesby MarjoComment by f-32: Magnificent birds. Is it a coincidence that we have two entries with these graceful creatures or should I be jealous that two of you went together to creat these images? Very nice composition, by the way. |

McCafferty Bridgeby MarjoComment by modgethanc: First thing that strikes me is the biker...in my opinion I really don't think it's helping the shot any. Part of it might be the position of the motorcycle and part of it might be that I feel like it would be better off without him all together...the bridge just has that nice peaceful feel to it and it's like the motorcycle disturbs it. Composition-wise, I think that the bridge could have been emphasize more if taken from a different angle, either being able to see more inside of it or from further out to the side...the way it is now it's like the side of the bridge that we can see just blends into the sky, and there isn't much detail on the inside, either. I do like the way the tree branches seem to frame it, and the color tint you chose complements it very well.
I'd have say I like your first outtake better; it incorporates the biker into the shot more and while you can't see the outer shape of the bridge as much, I like the tunnel feeling it has. |

McCafferty Bridgeby MarjoComment by docurrie: I had a feeling this was in Ohio. I'll have to get down there and take some shots of this bridge, maybe I'll even take my bike. This was a good shot. |
