Great stop action photo here... I can't imagine what shutterspeed you had to use for this photo! I like this photo a lot, although it looks maybe a tad bit dark. The brightness at the top takes away from the main subject, but I'm not sure how you could have avoided that. How muchdid you crop for this phtoo? it looks maybe a tad bit grainy, but doesn't bother me too much. Nice catch! Good luck.

lovely, good line, good use of shallow dof, nice shutter speed to capture the movement in the wings. Perhaps a touch lighter would have been more effective. The light source is from top left but the main action is in the right hand side.

cpanaioti, I tried higher and to the right but the closest horse blocked the other two. My intent was to capture all three looking at the house. (Okay...good, now...all three of you look at the house. Great! That's a wrap...LOL)

Mmm... kind of conveys an idle (not idLING, but 'off') tractor engine on first impression because of how hard it is to see the smoke against the clouds. If the smoke stood out more it would be better. Also, honestly, the horse in the background is distracting; my mind keeps saying 'Ooo, horsie!' rather than focussing on the other things. The angle on this is probably part of the problem; the placement of the smoke is such that the bulk of the tractor (and the horsie!) keep drawing the eye away from it. (Nice horsie! Is it a working horse or one for riding or both?) (See what I mean?)

That having been said, the concept is good; those things get LOUD.

Nice idea but I think a different vantage point (higher and to the right) would have served you better. Your camera is not on the same level as the horse's eyes.
