Marjo, Thanks for your comment on my Starfish Santa photo. I may have done better in that competition than with the one I submitted for the December open challenge... I knew I should have submitted my Hummingbird shot... Your "Magazine Cover" photo is quite good & I like it... I've been trying to get a great shot of a hummingbird for years... It's sure difficult to get everything right because they are so quick. I just recently got a good 'Birdfight' photo(instead of a dog fight)and during that go round I got 3 different shots of the bird coming directly at me... an interesting shot...although not technically perfect. I may put one in my portolio section sometime soon... Tim

I like the light and the composition. The choice of background is neat. The dof works really well here to seprate the statue form the background.

Thanks for all the wonderful comments and suggestions. Okay, a little heavy with the contrast, but it worked! I added text (Downtown Dayton) to this across the blown out sky and it looks great! (But, I am going to add a polarizer to my list of accessories to buy!) Thanks, again.

This is a great shot, could be used for a postcard for the city. The only thing that jumps out at me though is the sharpness of the shot and the coloring almost looks too rich but for a tourism shot that is great. If the sky was a deep blue the shot would be close to perfect, darn mother nature!
