I like the concept here, but without any sign of motion I see floating rather than falling. Try using flash on 2nd curtain sync with a slower shutter speed and a bit of ambient light to get a bit of trailing motion blur.

Nice stock shot look to this and I'm sure it will do ok but, hasn't much pizazz...perhaps, having a hand below it might have added to it? I DO get the message behind the falling gold prices though!

I understand your intent to make it look like it is falling, but the viewer needs some frame of reference in the background. Otherwise it looks like a poorly cropped stock photo of a ring.

I'm not sure what your technique is here. If your ring actually is falling, try to give it some sort of texture or point of reference in the background. If you can't pull off a falling object then try hanging it from fishing line.
