Bayshore Promenade

Thank you all for your very insightful and extremely helpful suggestions and encouragement. As my first entry, i really didn't know what to expect, but you've all be very supportive and positive.
I can't stress enough the power of the Canon S30. I took this shot 2 days after purchasing it used online. I've always had a fetish for perspective, unique angle, and clear focus. Definitely had to use a tripod for this shot.
The S30 naturally produces a star filter effect for all long exposures (sorry S30 owners, I let the secret out), great bonus for the camera. The amber lighting really made for mellow mood and sleepy tone. I was happy for the fact that there were many complimentary lines to use for a great depth effect. I personally like how the rail tries desperately to contain the light from the lamps.
A few people suggested cropping out the boat, and i partially agree with them. Others found the boat a positive compositional element giving broader subject range.. and i partially agree with them too. Others prefered adding people on the promenade in order to fit the theme of the challenge, but i felt it'd be too distracting. The promenade works best as a complete and intact subject. I also feel that adding people would throw the composition off balance and would saturate the picture with too many visual elements. But they were all valid suggestions and i thank them for it.
My trusty little optex tripod has a level bubble indicating flat and level footing. This helped immeasuably.
Thank you all for the very kind feedback! good luck with your Round submissions!
