I would agree that this picture is low key, and therefore meets the challenge. I do think it lacks dramatic lighting to catch the eye.

Meets Challenge: 1 of 3. Yes it's very dark, but I'm missing those highlights that give form to the darkness. As it is, it's just a dark subject on a dark background.
Technical: 3 of 3. Only thing I might have liked better was if you cropped tighter around the head. The feathers on his back aren't doing anything for the shot.
Emotion: 2 of 3. It's certainly not a boring shot, but it's missing some drama I think.
Awe: 0 of 1.
