Great use of the color read. Beautiful bird. THe top half of the photo seems to be a tad over exposed while the lower portion seems under exposed.

yeah but to use a longer lens and get the same angle would mean he would have to climb way up into one of those trees.

Or maybe just clone out the tripod, screw the challenge and enjoy a wonderful picture that you can frame. This is cool.
