Yes! I like when a cool tone works perfectly in an image!! I like the depth of field and composition, well done. I like that the grip isn't overdone, I feel his pain! This one has the qualities I would want for an image to do well in it's challenge! one tiny question...why is his forearm so hairy but not his upper arm?

Nice display of emotion through a hand in a hospital bed. Good DOF. I see the bedding is being grasped, which displays extreme pain well. I sincerely hope this was staged. I was going to comment on not seeing stress in the muscles/tendons, but trying it myself it's hard to tell the difference between gentle grasping and extreme tension.
