To me looks like you chose that lighting for the middle of the shot? I think it works having that washed middle and gradually getting darker all around. Nice approach imo

Fantastic..... I just absolutely love this one mate.....
The colors are to die for, and so rich in the wonderful beown tones. The patterns are also amazing and it is really is a top textured inage thats for sure.....

Desaturation Study

Doesn't work for me, feels too contrived. Selective desat is a technique that many people use when the composition feels too cluttered, and I feel that may be the case here. I heavily dislike the magenta/purple. The part of the photo I do like is the red fringe at the top with the bells, and this is clumsily half included in the shot and out of focus. There is bad haloing around the horse and pole, as if you blurred everything else in Photoshop. Perhaps too much time spent staring at this in Photoshop has affected your judgement!
