Entryby karmatComment by Pedro: i would absolutely love this if you shot it at a different time of day. the light hitting the left part of the building is just too overpowering to ignore. that beautiful archway entry should be the focal point, in my opinion. try it again at dusk or on a cloudy day :) nice job. -Pedro |

Entryby karmatComment by Patzt: What a superb clear photo! I love the light coming past the pillars. Just a terrific photo! What a nice place for a church too by a lake!

Entryby karmatComment by adine: I like being able to peek through the arches to that water beyond. very serene. I'd be tempted to crop down to just the central arch - it is a different kind of entry - not to the building but to the light, air, water and earth. It would be a simpler more powerful image. |

Entryby karmatComment by kostia: One of my top five in the challenge. The color and lighting under the arch are extraordinarily warm and inviting. |

Enemy Forcesby karmatComment by karmat: Thanks for the comments.
About the focus -- actually the shot is fairly much in focus, on the original. In Paint Shop Pro, at "1", the file size was like 158, so I bumped it one and it came down to under 150. However, it blurred when I looked at it after submitting -- thus the multiple submissions. A few minutes after the deadline, I realized, I probably could have just trimmed a few pixels off of each side, and wouldn't have had to compress it at all.

Enemy Forcesby karmatComment by photographist: May be I'm missing something, but for me, the content doesn't quite meet the challenge subject. This could be any night.
That said, the balance is nice and the eerie blue beneath red in the sky is otherworldly. I also like the fact that the foreground is out of focus to an extent. The combination of the focus and the feeling that the image is out of balance slightly (feels heavier on the right) gives me a slightly off center -- have to tilt my head to make the world seem right.. feeling.
Good work.
