Wow the colors on this bird are lovely! I didn't know that they could have such rainbow coloration. Love the bokeh that creates a wonderful golden backdrop for this bird to pop off of. Detail is fabulous as well with it giving me some great details to look at from the feathers to the wings to the beak and eye. Wonderful avian shot!

I feel like we don't see too many B/W macro bugs on DPC, so for a subject that's become fairly cliche, the B/W is refreshing. Certainly the best of the bug shots, and in my top 3--hope to see this on (or at least near!) the front page when it all pans out.
