given how open and wide the area around the tent is why not have walked far enough to not have it in the picture...the sunset with it's rays is quite enough

What an extraordinary image. Hope you got out of there fast. African elephants coming at you while fanning their ears is NOT a good sign. I do so hope you'll share where you took this. The sky is SO dramatic, and I love the way the clouds seem to be the leaf cover for the tree.

Wonderful scene and great use of depth of field. Going black and white with this subject is risky (in my mind) but you did it well with nice contrast.
