City Lightsby digifotojoComment by digifotojo: Jamie, as you and I both know, there is a lot of inequity in the voting process. However, we are powerless when it comes to the scoring of our entries. We do the best we can to capture good images but if the non-participants decide it's not to their liking, there's not a whole lot we can do about it.
Thank you for your kind words.

City Lightsby digifotojoComment by J-Me: Wow, Jo....this is such a beatiful shot and well excuted! I don't "get" how one city night shot can win a ribbon while another one (this one) can score so much lower??? To me, this was as well shot as the ribbon winner and certainly not explainable as to the difference in scores?? It's beyond me and I think that you were robbed score wise. Seems that the "non-participants" had a hand in pulling down this score. Then, again, non-participants may not understand the difficulty in getting such a shot. |

Winter Solstice by digifotojoComment by J-Me: CONGRATULATIONS JO!!!!!!! WAY TO GO!!!
This is an absolutely stunning image. It has such a feel to it and "mood". LOVE IT!!!
ETA: I love the shadow from the tree. I think it works perfectly well to add "mood" to this shot. Getting rid of the shadow would have focused solely on the tree itself and lent itself to more of a stock shot look. This entire shot, including the shadow has a real feel to it and it's what makes the shot what it is!
Photographers do not live by stock shots alone! ;-) Message edited by author 2009-01-06 11:11:30. |

Asian Beautyby digifotojoComment by J-Me: I LOVE the way that her white jacket blends in with the white background to reveal just her hair and frilly blouse. It really frames her face and puts the emphasis on her face, drawing the viewer's eye to her. Great pose too! Love the way that she's looking away from the camera.
