From an artistic standpoint, it has significant impact being richly colored with excellant detail. This image would have worked as a black and white as well. This is why DPC can most times suck: did anybody bother to look up the word 'Baroque'? No, I don't think so because if they did, they would have scored it much higher then at 7%. So, that said, read this, Wikipedia: Baroque and give it a 10.

An effective use of natural lighting, the flower displays excellant detail - a very natural setting. It might have been more impressive if some of the background details were missing. A good entry demonstrating technical control of the subject matter.
