I didn't get to vote on the old challenge, but I agree with the other comments regarding the interest of the subject....I really like this as a texture though and it would score much higher in a texture challenge!

I gave the original a 5 mostly because it didn't stand out amongst the ones I looked at. The textures are nice but the subject is indistinct.
