have you tried to cut out more of the shore? - there is something drawing my eyes from the sky and sea to the shore, wich I do not find very interresting next to the other elements in the picture...

Yes - this is empty - it's also tranquil, beautiful and remote looking, but not desolate. The landscape has not been ravaged or made barren, neither does anything look forlorn. A great shot regardless of the challenge.

I like your interpretation of right angles. From a technique point of view the one thing I would point out is the lamp at the top being out of focus. I'm sure this was a depth of field problem, but maybe it would just be better to crop it out if you cannot pull it into focus. We know it's a lamp post and the right angle for me would be the crossing streets.
