If not for the excessive JPEG compression that was used, this would have been a wonderful shot. All the loss of clarity, blockiness and artifacting is due to saving with high levels of compression. Compression kills detail. Always use the least amount of compression you can get away with and still come in under the challenge limit. Your image editor should have a setting somewhere to adjust the compression level when saving.

Good attempt but not quite sharp enough focus, I find the background colour off-putting and the compression is way too high, perhaps it may have been better in mono? Good luck anyway

A lovely subject to photograph, but unfortunately this is very badly pixelated. It may be a result of resizing for submission or something from processing. You can ask for help after the challenge is over if you're not sure what caused the problem.

to me this seems to need a little more composition...either include the fountain to the left or crop him out...and don't crop out the peak of the building in the center of our focus...
