Maybe it's just me, but I'm seeing a lot of jagged egdes. Maybe over sharpened? Also, the photo is kinda nice but it isnt very exciting... almost too common if a sight to even notice the shadows? Just my opinion.

Great image. I like the differences in light, and the focus is great. Has a nice general alone feel, though I don't get a solitude or lonely sense from it. Colors are a bit muted but I think that helps with the overall feel of the area. No real negative aspects, would suggest cropping that light looking bit of tree? on the right. 8

This is an interesting picture of your subject choice, I have spent some time studying it and I just don't see how it applies to the use of lighting to create a mood tone. I was hoping to use the title to help piece it together and that isn't helping me either...
