The B&W conversion here is exceptional. The lighting on the couple helps to emphasize that they are the main "stationary" subjects of this image. I gave this a 9 because it is superb.

Thanks for all your comments, much appreciated. Whilst I (naturally) like this shot I can see its not that 'pleasing' to the majority of voters (some mean people gave it a 1 - shame on them!)

I am not sure what the voters saw here...this is a sweet shot...your subject is caught on an interesting angle..
the shadows do not distract or remove any key info..so what was expected..I don't know...I guess people like bright colours with their baby shots...emotionally it makes them feel more positive, not more critically aware..
