SWEET!! by Wenders11Comment by Wenders11: Cornflakes!! Why didn't I think of that?! :)
dssagent88, I apologize for overreacting. It actually wasn't even your comment that bothered me, it was the one after yours that made me feel like I was being asked to defend myself. And it came at the end of an extremely long day where we had been traveling for hours, we had to stop for car problems, our hotel screwed up and I was exhausted. I think I just read the comments at the wrong time, and I read them on my cell phone where I couldn't even properly respond until I could find a computer. I should have just waited until I wasn't so frazzled and then it really probably wouldn't have bothered me.
Having said that, it really is TOTALLY freaky how much those photos look alike, lol! How weird! I guess great minds think alike! :)

SWEET!! by Wenders11Comment by Jedusi: Wendy - I am so pleased for you !!
You were always going to end up getting a ribbon, it was just a case of when and how :- )
(in my case I collected the coupons from the back of Cornflake packets)
Well done - I'm sure other ribbons will follow - now get back to your vacation . . |

SWEET!! by Wenders11Comment by dssagent88: Originally posted by Wenders11: I'm typing this from a public hotel computer because we're on vacation, but I just wanted to respond to this.
It's totally FREAKY how much these two photos look alike, but I can honestly say that I don't recall ever seeing the other photo until yesterday. My shot was not copied from anyone. I know that sounds hard to believe because they look SO much alike, but it's nothing more than a weird coincidence. Those sucker shots aren't uncommon, in fact there was another one in this challenge.
I know it doesn't really matter in the long run, I just don't want to be accused of copying someone elses work when I know that I didn't. I'm going to go back to my vacation now, so if you want to discuss it further you're going to have to wait until Sunday when I get home. |
Wendy, I'm not accusing you of anything. I was actually complimenting you on pulling off a better shot of the one I tried to do. I'm not surprised that someone else had the same idea for a similar shot. To think that I would be the only one to think of this concept would be quite egotistical. I was merely pointing out the strange coincidence that our minds had come up with on different occasions. Plus, if you were to copy a photographer, I would suggest someone else, like Librodo, anyway. :) |

Granted, your new one is much better than my old one, but I am still learning. Message edited by author 2008-07-30 23:21:40. |

SWEET!! by Wenders11Comment by Mick: Great shot Wendy! This is a good example of getting close and keeping the shot simple and uncluttered. The swirl of bright colors and the boy̢۪s wide-eyed look has great visual impact, and that's all you need to tell this story.
Congratulations on your first ribbon!

Give and Takeby Wenders11Comment by tfarrell23: Every once in awhile I float thru the ended Challenges, and check the scores...and IMO...this shot was way underated.
