Beautiful shot, but next time you may want to shoot (or crop) the bridge to be level with the horizon. A great shot nonetheless.

Comment by Melethia:
Too busy for DPC and the kind of shot I LOVE to take. Light here is also the kind of light I love to shoot in. You have very good detail and range throughout which is tough to get in that kind of light. Had I voted I'd have scored this fairly high, but that's because it is indeed my kind of shot. The average voter probably didn't much care for the whole "too much" thing, nor the guy on the right of the frame.

This is a very good B&W street picture, I think that the blur person in the foreground killed it.

This is a good and bad photo. Good photo in the respect that it tells a story, bad photo in the sense that it fails to make impact visually and lacks ability to hold the viewer.
The probable reason for this might be is that the photo looks almost flat through out the frame. Stronger contrast might have helped.

Comment by Alicia:
Fantastic street scene - the haze, the arch, all the different people - very well seen. Love the BW for this. It's technically sound, clear, good contrast. Really excellent photo.

Don't know where to begin. This is amazing, and truly worthy of your title, a rare and precious conjunction. It reminds me of those medieval portraits where the landscape is seen through a window or archway; that is to say the arrangement and perspective have classic overtones. This is also a candid with a wealth of telling detail contained by the strong lower curve of light and upper dark arch melded with the OOF watcher. That you have achieved so much compositionally and tellingly (AND in portrait orientation) should relegate dpc-type niggles to the tiny box in which they belong.
