Some really interesting tensions in this shot which take it away from 'just' a studio shot.

The mix of heave coat/ jacket, against the bare skin and near exposure of her body, the delicacy of her features against the dark surround, the air that she is almost trying to get out of the shot - yet satying still, the simple finesse of her hair and make-up against the blandness of the backdrop.

I think this has some really interesting dynamics which may well phase some viewers who won't know quite what to make of it - but I think they give it a slightly edgy feel which works well at drawing you in and making you want to understand more.

This is quite magnificent.

It has a whole extra depth and almost mystique that the colour one (nice though it is ) lacks. B&W is perfect for this shot.
