The Re-Trainingby ColeyComment by Techo: Wonderful to see the continuation of your story. Waiting to see more :)
The mood was more grimm in the first, more mysterious might be a better word. Here it's more upbeat, they befriended eachother already. For the final I imagine seeing rays coming in between the clouds as the angel makes its way up. Message edited by author 2008-08-13 18:01:57. |

The Re-Trainingby ColeyComment by tspoon: The two in this series are just brilliant. Awesome. Guggenheim-worthy, in my unqualified opinion.
My only reservation is that for some reason, I feel strongly that in "The Re-Training," the fallen flying girl should also be borrowing the umbrella and holding it opened in her free hand, trying to add a "Mary Poppins" to her host of other unsuccessful attempts to re-attain the skies.
Anyway, brilliant work. |

The Re-Trainingby ColeyComment by mpeters: Signature. It doesn't leave as many questions to be answered and I find the position of the models inside your frame to be a more static than your previous entries. I don't think I'm making sense.... Maybe the light is different. NOt sure. I'm going to need to revisit your others to see if it will help me articulate.
ETA: see what Karmat said below. :) I think that is what I meant. Message edited by author 2008-08-11 00:16:00. |

The Re-Trainingby ColeyComment by Quigley: Coley, this is a fantastic follow up to your last angel shot . I hope this one does just as well as the last one. It's nice to see the story contunue and you have left it open to ones own imagination.
I find the shadows interesting, your umbrella does not have one, you have only a small oneand it's in front of you, about the size of your right leg, your angel's shadow is an the ground in front of her, the shadow from your right arm cover some of her legs, the bench's shadow is behind the angel and the balloons have no shadow to speak of. Interesting lighting set up you had out there on the open plain, very interesting indeed.
I think B&W was a great choice for this shot and the DoF is spot on. I love the contrast and the view in your shot. Great work as per usual coley.
I should hope to see this one in the top 3. 10 from me.

The Re-Trainingby ColeyComment by karmat: a neat idea, and setup, but it seems to lack some of the "mystique" of the earlier shots. Not sure why. |
