Stormy Coastby orvaratliComment by karmat: CRITIQUE CLUB CRITIQUE
by karmat
Stunning land/seascape.
Compositionally, it is very well balanced. The shore "leads" to the city in the background, but is broken up by the rocks in the almost center. This is very effective in adding interest to the shot. Also, I think it works well that there is a lot of foreground to the shot.
Technically, the exposure, focus, etc. work well together to make a great shot. I think the long exposure worked particularly well to give that misty ghosty feeling to the water. The lights in the background give just enough color contrast to work well, and give some "life" to the shot.
Overall, I think you have a great shot, and did fairly well in a competition with a lot of awesome shots.
Good work.

Stormy Coastby orvaratliComment by LindaLee: This image fascinates me simply because of the strange juxtaposition of the dark, moody, stormy part and then the brightly lit land/city/port area. It's almost like 2 different images. I totally love the look of the foreground, and the storm clouds. Very spooky looking. |
